Sedation Dentistry
Relax. You're in Safe Hands.
What Is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry uses safe, controlled medication to help patients relax during dental procedures. It’s ideal for those who experience dental anxiety, have a low pain threshold, or require extensive treatment in one visit.
Depending on your needs, sedation can range from mild relaxation to deep sleep-like sedation.
Who Can Benefit from Sedation Dentistry?
You may be a good candidate for sedation if you:
- Feel anxious or fearful about dental visits
- Have a strong gag reflex
- Have difficulty sitting still for long periods
- Have sensitive teeth or a low pain tolerance
- Had traumatic dental experiences in the past
- Need a large amount of dental work completed in fewer visits
Types of Sedation We Offer
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
- Mildest form of sedation
- Inhaled through a small mask
- You stay awake and aware, but relaxed
- Effects wear off quickly – you can drive home after your appointment
Oral Conscious Sedation
- A pill taken before your appointment
- Creates a deeper sense of relaxation
- You remain conscious but may feel drowsy or forget parts of the procedure
- You will need someone to drive you home
Is Sedation Dentistry Safe?
Absolutely. Sedation dentistry is safe when administered by trained professionals. Before your appointment, we’ll review your medical history and explain what to expect. Your vital signs will be closely monitored during the procedure to ensure your safety.
